Recycling for residents of Private Roads
Our recycling program is easily adapted to collect from residents living on private roads. For both safety and liability reasons, our trucks are not permitted to travel on these roads. If you live on a private road in one of the listed (link) townships you will have recycling collection at a designated Common Collection Area or CCA. If you have any questions regarding your CCA, please contact our office at 705-775-2737.

Tips for Recycling at a Common Collection Area:
  • If you live on a private road in one of the above townships there will be a designated Common Collection Area for your recycling. You must place your properly prepared recyclables either at the closest public road or at another previously arranged location to ensure collection.
  • If your recycling collection takes place after you leave the area (for instance in the middle of the week, after you have gone home from the cottage), ask a neighbour to collect your empty box for you.
  • Mark your name and/or address on the blue box to avoid having your blue box mixed up with others or go missing altogether.
  • In order to keep your private road neat and tidy, co-operation of all residents is essential. Organize a group of volunteers to ensure that clean ups are undertaken regularly and that only those items that are recyclable are left for collection.
